About the Summer Staff position

We are looking for gospel-minded men and women of ages 16-17, who have a heart for discipleship and the local church. Our vision at Skylark is to bring in fun, creative counselors who love kids and can lead them to follow you as you follow Christ. Our summer staffers are part of our Skylark family, and you will experience the community of your fellow staffers along with development and discipleship investment from your leadership team.

Commitment:

• Attend Summer Staff Orientation (May 17-19)
• Attend Training Week (May 20th-24th)
• Commit to the majority of summer with off weeks requested ahead of time
• Serve 7:00a-5:00p (including time spent with your team in community and discipleship 6pm-7pm)
• Be teachable and humble
• Have a blast!

Summer Staff duties are:

• Lead the campers assigned to you by shepherding them physically, emotionally, and spiritually
• Support the program director and other staff during program activities with your attention, energy, and enforcement of the rules
• Provide quality instruction at your assigned activity class(es) and ensure camper safety at all times
• Enforce all health and safety regulations and report all injuries and illnesses to the appropriate staff
• Follow the proper disciplinary/reporting chain when camper issues arise
• Be able to communicate the current mood, struggles, victories, and attitude of your campers to the program director or full time staff at any time
• Have one-on-one time with each of your campers during the week
• Other duties as assigned by the camp director
